Getting organised this spring with 'Palm Springs'!?

When the sun comes out, it's easy to forget your deadlines and soak up the summer sun – but this isn't good for us at all. I'm not saying stay inside and deprive yourself of Vitamin D, I'm simply saying re-vamp your stationery and give it a splash of summer! With Ohh Deer's new Palm Springs collection, which is a collaboration with Jacqueline Colley, you can add a touch of summer to your notes, deadlines and weekly plans....

I'm a stationery obsessive, hoarder and collector – I'm obsessed with buying pretty notebooks and I'm obsessed with using them too! Keeping my notes, plans and ideas in order is vital for me to have a clear mind that functions correctly – in many ways, keeping my notes organised, means I'm organised and in turn ensures I have better mental health.

I find that weekly planners, and note pads really help me to stay organised and on top of things. And when they have the most adorable summery illustrations adorned all over them, they're even harder to resist, and whole lot more motivational too.

The new collaboration between Jacqueline Colley and Ohh Deer is absolutely stunning. The Palm Springs collection has the most dreamy items of stationery imaginable and I'm obsessed with how cute it ensures my desk looks! Featured within this post are: the Palm Springs A4 Deskpad (£7.95), the Roadtrip A5 Notepad (£5.95) and the Washi Tape (£2.50).

My top tips for staying organised this spring

  1. Write your plan for the coming week down, and try to stick to it. A weekly planner pad like the Ohh Deer one featured within this post is perfect for keeping check of your week, and ensuring you keep on top of your tasks. I like to write any appointments or major events or university lectures on the left hand side, and then for any other notes or ideas I'll fill up the other spaces. I find this desk pad super helpful and it definitely keeps me organised as it's always there out of the corner of my eye.
  2. Dedicate thirty minutes each day to keeping track of your finances, tasks and emails. This thirty minutes will ensure you're on top of everything and will give you a little time to catch up, just in case you've fallen behind. Each morning I will spend fifteen minutes planning for the day ahead, and in the evening I'll spend a further fifteen minutes ensuring that update my notes.
  3. I know this may be a silly tip, but swishing your curtains open and opening a window or two first thing in the morning will rejuvenate your senses. The smell of freshly cut grass, the birds' chorus and the sun beaming in – these things always put a spring in my step and ensure I feel motivated.
  4. Keep your desk neat, tidy and clear. I like to have my desk in order, otherwise my mind feels all jumbled up too. Having a clear desk, means you have a clear mind!
  5. When carrying out errands, replying to emails or studying for upcoming exams – listen to your favourite music. I tend to have playlists for certain moods and tasks, I find this really helps with motivating me and keeping me focused on the target.

Keeping organised is vital for a relaxed and content life, and I find that using the correct stationery and sticking by my top tips really helps me to do so. The Jacqueline Colley X Ohh Deer Palm Springs range is so perfect and really gets me into a spring-like and summery mood. The colours, cute illustrations and overall holiday vibe that this gives off makes me happy in an instant – I'm obsessed with this collection as it's made me fall in love with keeping organised again! The Palms Springs collection is available from Ohh Deer. Prices start at £2.50, which is amazing!!
