#SlowStyling – why 'fast fashion' isn't for me

Inspired my my friend's new movement, #SlowStyling, today I want to chat to you all about re-wearing garments. We don't all have a bottomless bank account brimming with dollar, and we don't all have the time to keep track of each and every trend that shows up on the catwalk (I mean, let's face it, there's a lot!), and in all honesty, I like to get a lot of life out of all of my clothes....

Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipsticks: FIVE NEW SHADES

Pixi have released five new MatteLast Liquid Lipstick shades, and oh boy are they beautiful! Pixi are all about enhancing your natural beauty, a trait of their brand which I adore. But they haven't really ever had a lot of bright and bold lipsticks... until now of course! Bright and bold shades have always been my preference – a bold lip is definitely my status, so when I heard that Pixi were releasing some bold shades, I was SO excited. I do adore their nude shades, but for me, a bright and bold shade is more on the level with my persona!

I adore baking... especially around autumn time, oh and Christmas too. Baking brings me so much joy. I love it. I also love gifting off baked goods to loved ones. Many a time my mum and I have carefully packaged a cake and sent it in the post for family members. In today's post, I'll be sharing this incredible sugar cookie recipe with you all. For years my mum and I have tried to perfect our recipe, and last autumn we finally did, so it's only fair I share it with all of you!

Having goals and dreams is a big part of my identity. Without my aspirations, I simply wouldn't be me. Could you imagine, me, Mollie Quirk, not aspiring to be the editor of Vogue? Nah, it's not happening, and it never ever will. I recently had a big eye opening event in my life, and let's just say, I didn't think for a second that this kind of thing even existed in 2018...

Christmas is in sight! Crazy, isn't it!? Just a few weeks ago, we were all sweltering in the excessive heat, moaning about the high temperatures, yet wishing summer would last forever. Ever since my mum and I watched Kirstie's Homemade Christmas many moons ago (when I was in high school in fact), we have been obsessed with making salt dough. Salt dough is wonderful, and makes the most perfect autumn/winter craft – it's easy, it's accessible, it's cheap, and best of all, anybody can do it!

Transitional fashion – from summer to autumn & beyond...

Fashion can be seen as a disposable outlet, but to me it's a constant. When I buy a piece of clothing, I'm not just buying it – I'm investing in it. I don't want to buy something to wear once and then forget about – I want to buy it, love it, wear it, love it, and wear it another twenty times over. Within this post, I want to encourage you to wear your clothing throughout the seasons. Granted, a maxi dress probably won't be worn on a snowy evening, but why not dress down a pretty summer tunic in the autumn?

SBC Propolis Shampoo + Conditioner Review

I was kindly gifted this fabulous duo by SBC a couple of months ago. I have adored SBC for years, I trust their products 100%, and some of their products are firm favourites of mine. I have adored their propolis skincare gel for years, I first discovered it on QVC a couple of years ago, and ever since my first purchase I have re-purchased it countless times. Their propolis skincare gel has helped soothe my skin in the summer, when I have hormonal breakouts, and when I need a little extra hydration. As you can imagine, when I was asked to try out this fabulous new duo, I was absolutely ecstatic and so intrigued too...

Acne aids from Image Skincare's Clear Cell collection

I have suffered with spots, blemishes, and breakouts for as long as I can remember. I've never had full blown acne, but my skin has always had traits of acne. Luckily, as I've grown up, my skin has matured and dried out a little, which means I don't suffer as many breakouts as fifteen year old me did. But every now and again, especially around my time of the month or if I get stressed, my skin will break out in angry blemishes and spots....

Dom & Ink – chic art deco twig drawings?

Dominic Evans AKA Dom&Ink. What a guy. I have been friends with Dom ever since I spoke about his book #MapMyStyle in a YouTube video back in 2015. He reached out to me, thanked me, and then asked me for my address as he wanted to illustrate me as a 'thank you' – I was blown away, and felt to blessed. Since then, I have written blog posts about Dom, and interviewed him for my college's annual magazine. Dom is a true GEM, and I love him as much as I love his illustrations – A LOT!

A summer body? Hun, I've already got one!

There's so much talk on social media that revolves around getting a 'summer body', a 'beach body' or a 'bikini body'. But I call bullshit. Although I understand fully, the desire of wanting toned abs, lean thighs and an 'instagram worthy' body – it's just a trap. A trap to ensure we buy into the diet industry, and a trap to ensure we loath our bodies so much that we feel the need to alter and change them.
