Review of the #PixiPretties collaborations

Thursday 14 September 2017

Within this post I shall be reviewing the #PixiPretties collaborations: Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse, MaryamNYC Strobe and Bronze, Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder, ItsJudyTime Eyeshadow Palette and then I shall also be reviewing their iconic, cult classic Glow Tonic! Keep reading to hear my thoughts...

I was kindly sent some of Pixi's current hero products, some of which are from their recent collaborations with beauty gurus and YouTubers such as MaryamNYC, Aspyn Ovard, Caroline Hirons and ItsJudyTime. In my little green parcel I received the Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse; the ItsJudyTime 'ItsEyeTime' Eyeshadow Palette; the MaryamNYC Strobe and Bronze palette; and the Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder in Rome Rose, as well as a cheeky travel size bottle of their signature Glow Tonic which I was SO excited to try.

Pixi X Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse Review

I was very intrigued to try Caroline Hirons' Double Cleanse as I have used some cleansing balms in the past, so I thought "How could this one be any different?" - but oh boy was I wrong! Although the balm isn't too dissimilar to some others I own (namely, Clinique), the cleansing cream is beautiful and is what makes this product unique. The balm thoroughly removes stubborn makeup and the cream cleanses and refreshes your skin. You simply massage the balm onto your full face of makeup until the makeup literally melts away, then take a lukewarm wet muslin cloth and wipe away the day. After your skin is makeup free, massage the cream into your face and rinse again with a clean lukewarm wet muslin cloth to remove any excess makeup/residue - this reveals gorgeous clean and clear skin! I definitely prefer this method of cleansing over my usual balms as it seems to work better for my skin type.

Pixi X MaryamNYC Strobe and Bronze Review

If you want to glow, MaryamNYC's Strobe and Bronze Palette WILL MAKE YOU GLOW FROM THE INSIDE OUT! This palette contains some of the best strobing highlighters I have ever applied to my cheeks. I'm not too keen on looking super 'made up' and I really don't like a strong highlight on me (personal preference) and this palette works so well for me at achieving a natural and super glowy lit-from-within glow. The natural hues of the strobing powders are so blendable and well.. natural - I've honestly never seen a glow like this; so natural, so glowy and so 'healthy' looking. The bronzing powders also add a different depth and dimension to your canvas (your face) - pigmented, blendable and buttery, these beautiful powders are so versatile and go with any outfit, makeup look or mood. The swatches are as follows from the first swatch downwards (first swatch is of Aspyn Ovard's Glow-y Powder in Rome Rose):

- Highline: a gorgeous peach toned strobing shade which works well when you want a warm makeup look
- Empress: a beautiful champagne hued strobing shade (my personal favourite)
- Lex: an apricot hued shade - perfect for autumn
- City Kitty: a light brick hued bronzing powder
- Statuesque: a deep brown shade - perfect for contouring and chiseling
- 917: a shimmery bronzer which adds dimension to your cheekbones

Pixi X Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder in Rome Rose Review

Again, this highlighter is bloody beautiful! I also own the London Lustre shade from Aspyn Ovard's Glow-y Powder collection with Pixi and I can 100% vouch that these highlighters are truly amazing. Rome Rose works beautifully as a two-in-one blush and highlight. The deep pink teamed with the glowy iridescent shift means that this powder highlighters, defines and blushes your cheeks - perfect for when you're sporting a glowy, pink hued makeup look (just a heads up, how perfect is this powder for spring!?!?!?). See the first swatch on my arm from the picture above to see the utter gorgeousness of this wonderful Glow-y Powder!

Pixi X ItsJudyTime Eyeshadow Palette Review

For some strange reason, I didn't really think that the itsjudytime itseyetime palette was for me. I thought that because the shades were so buttery and silky, they might not stay in place all day - how stupid do I feel? These eyeshadows stay in place longer than any other eyeshadow I own - literally, I'm not even joking. Buttery, mega pigmented and amazing staying power... this palette is a dream, oh and how perfect are the shades for autumn!? From the top of the swatches to the bottom, the shades are as follows:

- Snowflake: a gorgeous rose gold metallic: super buttery and incredibly shimmery
- Bubbly: a beautiful gold with champagne undertones: metallic, buttery and super pigmented
- itsmommyslife: a buttery rust hued matte with a metallic shift.
- Good Morning: a rust nude with pink undertones - buttery and blendable
- Brick: a brick hued shade with a shimmery shift
- Honey Bear: a deep true rust
- Tu Tu: a deep mauve with lilac undertones
- Getaway: a brick red metallic with copper undertones
- Ping: a deep brown metallic with champagne undertones
- Dark Chocolate: a deep and dark matte brown
- Aww Snap: a super deep dark red brick hued matte
- Night Night: a dark black with navy undertones and silver micro-glitter

Each shade is beautiful, perfect for autumn, super pigmented and SO SO SO buttery! This palette definitely contains the most buttery and blendable shades ever... no lie!

Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic Review

I had wanted to try Pixi's Glow Tonic for YEARS but for some unknown reason, I just never got around to it. How have I survived without this wonder product? Smooth, glowing, super soft, incredibly clear, amazingly beautiful skin - yep, that's what you get when you use Pixi's Glow Tonic every night! It sounds insane doesn't it? A tiny orange bottle that works wonders on your skin... but it's so true and such a godsend. My skin has never looked clearer, my skin as never glowed this much and my skin has never felt this smooth and even. I'm truly impressed and will definitely be re-purchasing this when I run out (which won't be too far away).

Have you tried any of the #PixiPretties collaboration pieces or do you really want to try a particular item? Let me know in the comments section below!
