Tangible writing is always a winner in my books

Aside from clothes and makeup; stationery is a big love of mine. I hoard it usually but I'm starting to hoard even more of it due to starting University in September. Being a blogger and a student (and a female in general) means I get through A LOT of notebooks. Notebooks are my life. I LOVE scribbling down notes, notes about everything and anything. Whether I'm taking notes about cool outfits I see somebody in, ideas for an upcoming song I may be wiring, blog post ideas, lecture notes at college or just one of the thousands to-do lists I write in a week - writing for me is therapy, no matter which form.

Most people these days prefer to take notes on their phones, laptops, iPads and other electronic devices and although these can be great, I much prefer jotting down notes. There's something amazing about taking notes - everybody has different handwriting, different ways of writing lists, different takes on what the set out of a notebook should look like. Taking notes and writing in a physical notebook promotes the art of uniqueness. Most people these days store their notes within a word processed document - of which every other persons will look almost identical. But with handwriting, you'll know for a fact that your journal, lecture notes or to-do lists will look completely different, completely unlike any other persons notes, completely unique.

As I'm an avid note-taker, owning a million notebooks, planners and organisers is kind of a part of the job description. I own well over 50 *brand new* notebooks and that's still nowhere enough. For a few years now I have been absolutely besotted with Caroline Gardner's stationery ranges. Comprising of amazing, innovative and distinctive designs, Caroline's take on stationery is loved across the nation, and I for one am one of her fans. I have quite a big influx of college work at the moment and her Ultimate Organiser is currently my best friend. I use it to store all of my notes and to-do's for the week ahead - I jot down any assignments that may be due, any meetings I need to attend or any extra curricular stuff I need to do. With 5 tabbed sections, this organiser is perfect for keeping track of both my college life and personal life, with room still left to jot down blog post ideas. With 140 ruled page section, a weekly planner section, a sketchbook section and a squared section that can be used as a bullet journal; this organiser really does have it all and in my eyes, it beats having it all online!

But having one solely used organiser doesn't stop me from writing in other notebooks.. I still start (and fail to finish) writing in a million and one other notepads because, well, they're just too damn pretty (and Instagrammable) not to! Wouldn't you agree?

What's currently on my desk?

  1. A nice cup of frothy coffee made my my marvellous mother! She makes the best hot drinks, ever!
  2. My favourite Molton Brown Hand Cream in 'Gingerlily' - it has the nicest floral fragrance which is so perfect for Spring!
  3. Ultimate Organiser by Caroline Gardner - perfect for storing all of my lists!
  4. My London Retro 'Bromley' Reading Glasses
  5. Burt's Bees' Moisturising Lipsticks
  6. Caroline Gardner Ditsy Floral Exercise books, I have three and I use one for blogging, one for college and I'm saving one for uni.
  7. Rose Gold Ballpoint pen by Caroline Gardner - this pen writes beautifully, unlike some pens I own that are super scratchy.
  8. Sticky notes by Caroline Gardner - these are perfect for revision, they ensure I have saved the pages in my revision books on topics I need to revise more.
How do you prefer to store your to-do lists and notes? Would you rather store them in a pretty notebook or organiser or would you rather store them on your phone? Let me know in the comments below as I would love to know!

  1. While I do love technology, for notes and appointments, or me nothing beats a physical book for writing in. I enjoy the process of making notes in a notebook and my bullet journal has had such a positive impact on my productivity. I love the look of the Organiser, the wide ruled paper would be perfect for me with my dyslexia. Xx
